"Let the Games Begin!" Part Three: Dr. Wily is trying to take over the world with his stolen Robot Masters, but he didn't count on Mega Man! The young hero is tearing through the would-be world- conquering robots - but is the power going to his head?
Let the Games Being: Trouble Get!
This issue begins in a power plant, now completely under Elec Man's control. Elec Man assures Dr. Wily that there is no way Mega Man can past his electrical traps, but much to his surprise, Mega Man shows up. With a single Rolling Cutter, Elec Man is out of commission.
Mega Man's demeanor in this battle is notably different from the previous issue. His cold persona is now replaced with one of arrogance. Absorbing the Thunder Beam, Dr. Light quickly transports Mega Man to the water treatment plant, currently frozen over by Ice Man. Roll discusses the change in Mega Man's personality with Dr. Light (who is busy working on a new gadget). Dr. Light assures her not to worry... yet.
Mega Man blasts through some minor foes and reaches Ice Man. Sliding by Ice Man's attacks, he nails him with the Thunder Beam, instantly defeating him. With Ice Slasher in tow, Mega Man is transported to the waste disposal plant where Fire Man resides. Dashing by enemies and obstacles with no problems, Mega Man reaches Fire Man and freezes him over before he can even finish his trash talk.
Suddenly, Mega Man finds himself back at Light Labs, encased in a magnetic forcefield created by Dr. Light's new device. Enraged that his own family would betray him, Mega Man begins blasting at the forcefield with every Master Weapon he's obtained... until the sight of Roll crying and running out of the room snaps him out of it. On his knees, Mega Man begs Dr. Light to remove these weapons from him, expressing they have made him just as evil as Dr. Wily.
Deactivating the forcefield, Dr. Light kneels down to his son for comfort. Dr. Light explains that Rock was created in his image — he gave him his heart, his sense of justice, and the appearance of a child. However, the burden burning in Rock's heart... Dr. Light did not put that there. Dr. Light clarifies that he knew Rock's strength would only last so long for the great burden he has accepted, and he is going to help him.
Although reluctant, Rock understands... He must continue this battle with the weapons he has, but as soon as it is over, he will discard them. Dr. Light allows him to adapt the new device he made, the Magnet Beam. Rock apologizes to his father, as well as to his sister. Roll gives him a nice scolding before repairing the damages her brother's tantrum caused.
Dr. Light analyzes the data Rock has copied from the Robot Masters. Aside from their abilities, Rock also copied their movement data, allowing Dr. Light to pinpoint the location of Dr. Wily's hideout. Rock will not be able to teleport there and prepares to make the journey on foot. Recharged and ready with some reassuring words of encouragement from his family, Mega Man sets off, bringing the setting to where the story began in Mega Man #1.
Dr. Wily watches Mega Man from his monitor, confident that he can still win. Standing in the background of his laboratory are the six Robot Masters, also recharged and ready to fight.
Mega Man apologizes to Roll for losing his temper. Roll then says that it's "Ok" and then wonders what would happen if she react with so much power. She then imagines a dirty room and then thinks that clean it all up with fire. Mega Man then thinks that its something he should not imagine about something and Roll questions him what was supposed to mean.
